We went to an Ice skating rink last weekend… and it seems to me like if you wanna learn anything about life… Learn to skate.
I saw 4 to 5 years old children struggling to get from one point to another… others just strolling around… and all of them fell and they stood up again and again. No shame… no crying and no regrets…
While me… I tried to take it slow… Afraid what people might say… afraid to fall… afraid of everything that’s going to happen when I let go…
What a child knows about life is practically BASICS. If you wanna learn, you hold on to faith and believe in yourself… Ours, us adults, are complicated, belief in ones self isn’t enough anymore… falling down is a shame… the more that we get older… the greater the feeling of failing miserably…
Life to them is simple. Yet practical. If you wanna learn, you have to make mistakes along the way. Don’t be afraid to fail, because when you fail… there’s no other way but UP. But when you’re at the top… and there’s nothing to reach anymore… either you stay at it or you fall hard…
And falling hard is what I enjoy the most… but then so is staying at the TOP. Either way… I got the best out of both situation… and that is to learn a lesson. Plain and Simple.
So I learn to skate… a little bit… another P280 pesos and I’ll be able to learn MORE. About skating I mean. Life is overated. I got it a long time ago…
